ABOUT US
A BRIEF HISTORY OF ASIAN BOXING COUNCIL At the 1985 WBC Annual Convention in Bangkok, Thailand, the late Sahasombhop Srisomvongse and representatives from Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan, India, Qatar, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Jordan, Malaysia and Kuwait attended the historic meeting which all of they earned the distinction of launching the Asian Boxing Council (ABCO) as a confederation affiliated with World Boxing Council. It promoted and created many world champions throughout the region and it also played a major role in spreading the sport. After Sahasombhop’s demise in 2000 the duty fell on Pol.Gen.Kovid Bhakdibhumi, the current ABCO President, who has worked tirelessly to promote the ABCO activities all over Asia.
