15 Feb 2008

WBC #4 straw Pornsawan Porpramook (21-1, 16 KOs) successfully grabbed the ABCO interim 105 lb title as he stopped Filipino Richard Garcia (14-10, 3 KOs) as the main event on Thursday at Patavikorn Market in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Thai fighter who is also ranked WBO #7, WBA #10 and IBF #11, impressively opened the show with his vicious aggression, displaying effective bodyshots to weaken the Filipino in the first three rounds. Garcia did well early in round four when he landed a right straight which almost dropped the local hero.

But Pornsawan rapidly recovered and punishing his foe with his rifle punches. Finally, the show was ended in round five when the Thai fighter displayed one-side attack that dropped his opponent hard, forcing referee Udom Deekrajang to stop the bout at 1:34. Pornsawan, a former WBO title challenger, is now planning to unify the ABCO strawweight against WBC #10 Pigmy Muangchaiyaphum and the winner will get a chance to challenge for the WBC title in the close future
