THAILAND’S SET TO DEFEND HIS WBC ASIA 140LB CROWN

12 Sep 2018

Wednesday, September 12th: Fresh off defending his coveted WBC Asia super-lightweight title on last month’s WP Boxing promotion, Thailand’s Atchariya Tor Chantaroj (11-0-0) will once again stepover the ropes at the WorkPoint tv studios to make his second defense of the title he first won back in May of this year.

On that occasion he captured the interim strap — he has since been installed as outright champion — against his compatriot Krai Setthapon.

The man who will face off against the reigning 140Lb champion is Japanese pugilist Taisho Ozawa (21-10-2), a fighter going into this contest on the back of losing a title challenge to China’s Baishanbo Nasiyiwula, back in 2017.

This will be quite the formidable challenge for the Japanese boxer to overcome a supremely confident Atchariya, who is really starting to make the ring at the WorkPoint studios his own. Can the Japanese boxer upset the apple cart and return to the land of the rising sun with a beautiful green belt attached to his waist?

The contest takes place at the aforementioned WorkPoint tv studios on the outskirts of Bangkok on Saturday the 22nd of Septmeber.

On behalf of WBC Asia President Pol. General Kovid Bhakdibhumi and all the team at the Asian Boxing Council we wish both fighters the best of luck for their upcoming encounter.
