THAILAND’S PONGSAKLEK SET TO DEFND HIS ASIAN CROWN

12 Oct 2018

Saturday the 20th of October sees the next installment of the monthly WP boxing promotion, which takes place at the atmospheric WorkPoint tv studios on the outskirts of Bangkok.

The showpiece encounter for this month’s event sees the current WBC Asia light-flyweight champion, Pongsaklek Nakornluang, defend his much sought after title against Japanese pugilist Seito Ogido.

The champion holding a professional fight record of 16 wins, 5 loses and 1 draw is coming off a magnificent unanimous points victory of his compatriot Kompayak Shinjidojo, a contest which saw Pongsaklek regain his 108 Lb strap after losing it in their first encounter, earlier this year.

For his first defence since reclaiming the crown Pongsaklek will square off against Japan’s Seito Ogido, a boxer coming off a win over his compatriot Takayuki Teraji back in August of this year.

Seito holds a professional boxing record of 12 wins, 3 loses and 3 draws since turning to the pro ranks back in 2011.

On behalf of WBC Asia President Pol. General Kovid Bhakdibhumi and the entire Asian Boxing Council team we wish both boxers the best of luck for their impending encounter.
