FAROUK AND KARROUM SHINE IN SINGAPORE

14 Apr 2019

There is no doubt about it that professional boxing in Singapore is on the up and last night’s Ring Fighting Championship Event in the city state was another signal of that evidential growth in pugilistic action in Singapore.

The show had two WBC Asia title contests with Singapore’s Hamzah Farouk squaring off against Thailand Paiboon Lorkham for the WBC Asia Silver super-featherweight title — a strap that Hamzah held going into the contest — and one that he retained after ten round of intense action between these two combatants.

The other WBC Asia action saw French born ( now resident in Singapore) Abdelelah Karroum take on Singapore’s Alexandrew David for the WBC Asia interim silver super-welterweight title.

It was to be a Karroum’s night of glory as he outgunned, outsmarted and outboxed his opponent to take the win and improve his record in the pro ranks to five wins from five outings.

On behalf of the entire team at the WBC Asian Boxing Council we would like to congratulate both fighters and their teams on their night of pugilistic glory and a special mention of thanks, to the organizers of the event, for hosting two WBC Asia title contests on the show.
