WBC Asia's outstanding featherweight champion Cholatarn Piriyapinyo staked his claim for a crack at the WBC World title with another impressive ABCO defense ? this time against the tough Filipino boxer Edgardo Gabejan at Nakorsritammarat on 4 September.

Cholatarn has held the prestigious WBC Asia title for the past five years ? defending his title 21 times.

During his championship reign Chorlatan has improved to his current peak as an elite boxer with a dynamic arsenal of jabs (a la Sot Chidlada), double whammy fistic attacks and masterly ring control.

Cholatarn has always demonstrated an amazing ring movements to outspeed and confuse his opponents, but he has now perfected a punching aggression that is grounded by rapid fire jabs followed by strong left and right punches targeted to the body and head.

Against Gabejan he took a round to get into flow against a gritty, defiant opponent. But by round seven he was clearly the master of the ring and ended the contest with a TKO8 decision.

Cholotarn is ranked #4 on the WBC ratings. And it won't be long before he gets his chance for ultimate WBC glory.
