Thai boxing star Namchai Dilokpraphuek successfully defended his prestigious WBC Asia Super-flyweight title after scoring an impressive fifth-round TKO victory over Japan’s Akira Hoshuyama in the main event of the Petchyindee Boxing Promotion event held in Chonburi on May 6.
In front of an enthusiastic crowd, Namchai delivered a composed and powerful performance from the opening bell, using sharp combinations and relentless pressure to gradually break down his Japanese challenger. Akira Hoshuyama showed determination and toughness throughout the contest, but the Thai champion’s precision and aggression proved too much as the bout progressed.
By the fifth round, Namchai had firmly taken control of the contest, forcing the referee to step in and halt the action following a sustained offensive attack, awarding the reigning champion a TKO victory and another successful defense of his WBC Asia title.
