A thrilling contest of grit, heart and determination lit up the ring today in Bangkok, as Australia’s Pam McClelland captured the WBC Asia female super-featherweight title.
McClelland secured the championship with a hard-fought split points decision over Thailand’s brave and relentless challenger, Jittamat Phomta, in what can only be described as a true war of attrition.

Both athletes delivered an outstanding display of skill, courage and composure, trading momentum throughout an intense and closely contested bout that kept the crowd on edge from the opening bell to the final round.
In the end, the judges were divided, reflecting just how evenly matched the contest was, but it was Pam McClelland who edged the decision to be crowned the new WBC Asia female super-featherweight champion.

Full credit must go to Jittamat Phomta, who fought with tremendous heart on home soil and pushed the new champion every step of the way in a memorable championship battle.
Congratulations to Pam McClelland and her team on a superb achievement — and respect to both warriors for delivering a truly outstanding WBC Asia title fight.
